Mission Statement:
To provide political and legal advocacy, education and consumer protection in the field of addiction treatment.
The Addiction Treatment Advocacy Coalition (ATAC) would like to thank all of the organizations who decided to join forces to let our elected officials in Sacramento and Washington DC know that there is a serious assault on California’s network of for profit addiction treatment facilities. Our concerns need to be addressed to ensure that the California addiction treatment industry can provide critical care to those suffering from substance use disorder.
In eight short days, over 20% of California for profit treatment facilities organized to collectively take our concerns to the Department of Insurance, the Attorney General, the leaders of the California Assembly and State Senate, as well as the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Task Force. ATAC will also be coordinating an effort to send letters to local elected representatives in conjunction with each of you.
ATAC recently convened a meeting, attended by many of you, in the Long Beach area to discuss our strategy and open ATAC to membership.
